The Weight of This Moment

This Is the Most Permanent Decision You'll Make for Them

A memorial headstone or monument doesn't just mark a grave — it says who this person was, what they meant, and that they will not be forgotten. You deserve a company that understands that weight, takes the time to get it exactly right, and stands behind every piece they craft.

This will last generations

A memorial carved in granite or bronze will outlast every one of us. There's no "fixing it later." It has to be right the first time — every letter, every line.

🤝 You deserve patience, not pressure

Grief doesn't follow a schedule. You need a company that will walk you through every option at your pace, answer every question, and never rush you toward a decision.

🔍 Craftsmanship you can verify

All our work is done on-site in Natick. You can see the quality firsthand, meet the craftsmen, and have confidence in what's being created for your loved one.

What makes us different isn't just the craftsmanship — it's the relationship. We work closely with you to understand your loved one's story, and we craft a memorial that truly celebrates their life. All the work happens right here in Natick, so you can see it for yourself.

The Promise We Make

A Memorial That Honors Them for Generations

When we finish your loved one's memorial, we want you to feel something specific: certainty. Certainty that this piece is exactly right. That every detail was considered. That what stands in that cemetery will tell their story with dignity and beauty for as long as stone endures.

"A memorial isn't a product. It's a promise — that someone was here, that they mattered, and that they will not be forgotten."

That's what we've been creating for Metrowest Boston families since 1964. That's what we'll create for yours.

Our Belief

Grieving Families Deserve Better Than a Transaction

When you walk into most monument companies, you're handed a catalog and a price list. There's no conversation about the person you lost, no patience for questions, no real care about what this means to you.

We believe that's wrong. A memorial isn't something you should feel pressured or confused about. You should feel seen, heard, and supported — by people who understand this is one of the most meaningful things you'll do for someone you love.

That's been our standard since 1964. It's why four generations of the Starr family have built this business one family at a time.

Your Questions, Answered

Common Questions About Headstones & Monuments

We know this process can feel overwhelming. Here are the questions families ask us most often.

How do I know what type of memorial is right for my loved one?

That's exactly what our consultation is for. When you come in, we'll ask about your loved one — their personality, their life, what mattered to them — and walk you through options that fit. We'll also review any cemetery requirements, since some cemeteries have specific regulations about monument size, style, or material. There's no pressure to decide in one visit. Many families come back two or three times before making a final decision, and that's completely fine with us.

How long does it take to create and install a monument or headstone?

Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the piece, current work volume, and cemetery installation scheduling. Because all our monument engraving and fabrication is done on-site in Natick, we have more control over timing than companies that outsource. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your consultation — and we'll keep you updated throughout the process.

What does headstone engraving cost? Do you have price ranges?

Pricing depends on the material (granite type, bronze), size, design complexity, and what's being engraved. We're happy to talk through general ranges when you visit or call. We believe in transparency — no surprise fees, and no pressure to choose something outside your budget. We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Personal Check. Please call us at (508) 653-4860 or visit the showroom to discuss what's right for your situation.

Do you work directly with the cemetery, or do we need to coordinate that?

We handle all cemetery coordination for you. We'll contact the cemetery directly to confirm requirements, get installation scheduled, and manage the placement process. You don't have to navigate that while you're grieving. That's our job, and we take it seriously.

Can you add an inscription to an existing headstone or monument?

Yes. Our cemetery engraving service allows us to add names, dates, and inscriptions to existing memorials — either at our Natick workshop or on-site at the cemetery. This is common when a spouse passes and their information needs to be added to an existing monument. Call us to discuss what you need.

What is monument cleaning, and does my loved one's memorial need it?

Over time, granite and stone memorials can accumulate algae, lichen, and staining that dulls the stone and darkens engravings. Our professional headstone cleaning service safely restores the original appearance of memorials, making inscriptions legible again and returning the stone to its proper dignity.

Do you only serve Natick, or do you cover surrounding towns?

We serve families throughout Metrowest Boston and the surrounding region — including Framingham, Wellesley, Newton, Wayland, Weston, Waltham, Needham, Sudbury, Holliston, Sherborn, Dover, Southborough, West Roxbury, Lexington, and more. If you're not sure whether we serve your area, just call and ask.

When You're Ready, We're Here

There's no "right time" to reach out. Whenever you're ready to start — whether that's today or months from now — the Starr family is here to walk you through it with patience, compassion, and 60 years of craftsmanship.
